Ch-ch-ch-changes…

Beware of people who try to change you. No one has the right to change you into someone other than you are… Of course everyone who tries always has the “best” of intentions. But they’re just overstepping their bounds. You, on the other hand have every right to change yourself: especially if you’re a sinner saved by grace – someone who sees the sinfulness of sin… Instead of being embarrassed by how you thought/behaved, and just trying to forget or not-acknowledge your flaws, the sensible thing to do is to change them, don’t you think?
There’s a common misunderstanding: people think you need to change in order for God to like you. The Gospel is that God accepts you just the way you are. You don’t have to change a thing. Anyone who says otherwise isn’t preaching Jesus’ message. God LOVES broken people. Sinners and thieves, people with lots of flaws and mistakes, found friendship in Jesus without changing a thing. But as we become aware of our sin, you will actually want to change… Just the way even if your friends accept you while doing something shameful – at some point you might decide you don’t want to be ashamed anymore. To come into the light, and start getting rid of the things about you that don’t belong…that aren’t fitting for a child of God.
Knowing you’re a “sinner saved by grace” means you see things that need to change – you’re ashamed of them – you’d rather they weren’t true about you. But knowing you’re a “sinner saved by grace” means that you have the power to change available to you. Anything you want – especially when it’s something as right as getting rid of besetting sins – will be done for those God loves…
Many don’t believe people can actually change. One of the “proofs” of Jesus’ Gospel was to simply show that it was possible. But how? Confess your sin, what needs to change… Admit you can’t change this on your own, but you need God to help you. Ask for this help daily, be patient, and repeat until it’s a distant memory…

But don’t mothers, brothers, sisters, and SO’s always try to change you? That’s what is annoying about them but dangit I guess they do it because they care. It’s true though. Only God can change, he can rewrite anything…
