Happy Fourth!

It’s been a little over a year since we started meeting at the Union Square Loft. And I want to thank everyone who has made it possible – even if you left NY before we got to this location – it’s because you believed in a crazy dream that we could make it this far. To redefine church, to try and do everything God wants of us, to build a community of friends based on the God of the Bible, to the best of our ability, without compromise. To respect diversity and individuality while at the same time learning to live as a God’s family… This wasn’t an idea dreamed up in the high towers of a corporate headquarters somewhere, this was a call and desire implanted in us by a living God.
For those of you who were already part of a church, it was your open mindedness that let us do things differently from what you were used to. I know it was different, and even uncomfortable for you sometimes, but your open mindedness made room for others to join in. For those of you who had not been part of a church before, it was your courage in seeking God and truth that gave us direction and purpose here.
So thank you for being part of the journey! Don’t stop now because we’re just getting started – let’s keep the dream and God’s vision for what his people can be alive… Hope to see you Sunday!
