Wednesday Night Fellowship
Feb 24th, 2009 by ljkim
One thing I learned kind of late in life (I was pushy as a kid) is that it’s impolite to ask too many questions of people, even if what they’re saying doesn’t quite make sense or seems inconsistent. It’s not our place to interrogate people, and after a couple of mild questions people start to feel interrogated. Most people are aware of this and are sensitive to other people’s feelings… But fortunately for pushy question-asking people like me, this does NOT apply to God. God loves our honest questioning… because your questions give Him an opportunity reveal who he really is. I’d even say this is one of the key attributes of God: he loves our questions.
Now most people are too polite to ask hard questions at church, they don’t want to put the pastor on the spot or ask a question that will make believers lose faith… don’t worry, you won’t. I promise. Maybe you’ll ask a question that nobody knows the answer to. That’s terrific! Because it gives us an opportunity to find out together.
Why am I telling you all this? Because Sundays are great times to ask deep questions. We always have a discussion time; or if you don’t want to bring it up in public you can always talk to me (Leo) during the fellowship time, or email me, or whenever…but another great time for deep questioning, perhaps an even better time, is Wednesday Night Bible Study.
We’re having our first one at the Union Square Loft (Feb 25), at 7PM. After this we’ll do this approximately every other week, but sometimes we’ll skip a week so please check here for the latest info. Or even better, you can email us (ljkimATcityfellowship.com), or ask to be put on the fellowship mailinglist. Looking forward to seeing you!
